It’s done.

But I’ve kind of lost my umph again.

It took me two days to make this because I just got bored with the whole thing.

I must have five different pieces lying around on my table just waiting to be loved, and not one of them thrills me.

I even got some of the old paintings out to work on again

Version 2

But I can’t even be bothered with them.

Although I do like them boats down the bottom.

I’ve even been thinking about just tidying up the whole house instead of going into the studio so it must be bad.

I can’t even get to lay on the sofa to wallow

I blame it on my sister.

She came.

Then she went.

Not cool K.

Not cool.

  1. I love the pendant! That little tiny turquoise stone is just the perfect touch. Love the simplicity of the whole piece. I also love your paintings (I think the top one is my favorite–I seem to have developed a thing for houses.) (BTW, did you know that your jewelry pictures have been appearing (at least on my computer) sideways in your posts? They are rotated 90 degrees clockwise.)

Thanks Keirsten. Since the whole problem with WP I’ve noticed a few things going weird. I change the photo’s in the editing, but obviously it’s not working. Are the two on this particular post sideways because these are the two I changed?

      • now they are right side up! but the pictures of your flux jars on your “update” post are still sideways (for me anyway). (but oddly when I got the post above in my email, the mini email version had the pictures all right.) sounds like wordpress is as buggy as blogger….

Thanks Keirsten. Now that they’re up for you they’re sideways for me. I will sort it out. I’m on a mission now 🙂

  2. I think the piece is lovely. You are hard on yourself. I love your paintings. I’ve been thinking about your lack of umph. Sometimes we all get that way about our work. Maybe it’s time to try a new technique. Perhaps there is a place near you where you could take a class. Our Museum has classes in metalsmithing, casting, enameling as well as many other techniques. Right now I am interested in learning more
about raising and forming. I like synclastic forming. Something to mull over. You are so very talented.

I think you’re right. I have been thinking of doing some print making just recently and bought some new inks etc. Perhaps I’ll give that a go. Maybe make my own christmas cards this year. That’s a good practical solutions perhaps 🙂

  3. My pictures are fine.

  4. I find sometimes doing something completely different for a while gives me a whole new perspective and enthusiasm for my work. I may look at it in a new way. Printing your own Christmas cards sounds like a fun thing to do. Good luck and keep us posted.

I love this pendant!!! I like how the turquoise is on an angle. I understand your being bored. I am in kind of a funk lately. I haven’t made any jewelry since early October. Now I have a quilt project that I need to do. Not feeling it though:-(
I love how the cats are all sprawled out on your couch. If that happened here, my husband would shoo them away.
I hope you show some of your Christmas cards. Would like to see them:-) Your pictures have been showing up sideways on my screen also. These ones are sideways.

I’m viewing from an iPhone but the top two pictures are sideways for me. Well worth the turning off the phone though because I love the new piece. It’s simple yet visually interesting, one of my favorites! I hope your funk lifts soon, I always like reading what you are up to!

      🙂 Thanks.

  7. Love this pendant – LOVE IT! The two jewelry pics have been showing up sideways on my screen since your WP debacle, as well….Also, been trying to comment on every single post you make…but they never seem to “reach” you. Gonna keep trying!

O.K. I’m going to try to get someone to help me with what’s going on.

  8. well i hope you take comfort in knowing that your work is JUST AWESOME!!!
when i get bored in my studio i just look at art books-

    • coldfeetstudioblog

I know. I spend time doing ‘research’ 😉

  9. I like the house with boats. The pics seem fine NOW. The comments are going missing, I’ve realized, because they are timing out–and all disappears. Hope I typed quick enough this time!

Wow. A time limit eh? That’s a new one to me. I’ll go in and see if I can do something about it.
