Off again…

I’m off over to England again and won’t be around to tell you of all the happenings and anguishes of studio life for a while.

Last Friday week my dad died and so I’ve been dealing with all the happenings and anquishes of real life.

Sometimes real life sucks.

Anyway promise not to forget me and I’ll be back around mid April.

I’ll leave you with a lovely that I made yesterday to take my mind off things.

Dear Deborah, My condolences to you and yours. I remember a very funny post in which your Dad was telling you how he transported gas / oxygen bottles when he was younger, and how horrified you were considering your own nerves when transporting bottles. … I am so sad for you that he has passed. Keep hold of your happy memories of him.

    • coldfeetstudioblog

Thanks Eloise, I will. I really did have a great relationship with him these past five years since my mum died and will really be able to look back on that as something special.

  18. I’m so sorry for your loss Deborah. Reading the first lines, I was sort of anticipating that news — why else would you go again so soon? I know the pain you are feeling — my dad died a year ago next week. It’s weird how physical it can be, such a shock, even if they are old, and you’ve been expecting it, and all that. It’s still a shock, and you miss them. That pendant is unusually clean and serene, definitely different, and very beautiful! Take care, lots of hugs! /Monica

I know. He hadn’t been feeling particularly well and I know he was lonely since mum died. He was 85 and had only just started to feel his age in the last year so in that respect he was quite lucky. Sorry to hear about your dad 🙁

      • My dad was planning a quiet 80th birthday in a couple of weeks time. He had been ill for many many years (heart), and actually died in the best way possible — suddenly, yet with two days for my mum to sit by his bed, although his brain turned out to be gone by then. So, so sad, but all other alternatives would have been worse! And still it was a shock, although we had been waiting for it to happen for years. Strange, and not everyone could understand that.

Sorry for your loss. I love your blog so much I just wanted to let you know. I’m an artist (fine arts) and self taught jeweller, I love seeing your process, I’ve wanted to document my own creations better and you’ve definitely inspired me to try.

    • coldfeetstudioblog

Hi Lauren, thanks for that it’s really nice of you to tell me. I’d like to see your blog if you have one.
